Treatment of thyrotoxic crisis mnemonic

Hi. It's me again.

The mnemonic is, ABCD PQRS.

Antibiotics (To combat infection)
Benzodiazepines (For agitation)
Cooling (External cooling, no salicylates)
Carbimazole
Digoxin (For cardiac failure)

Propranolol
Propylthiouracil
Quickly act (filler :P)
Rehydration
Steroids (IV hydrocortisone)

I remember doses of only 3 antithyroid drugs -

Propylthiouracil 200 mg 4 hourly
IV hydrocortisone 200 mg 6 hourly
Carbimazole 20 mg tid

(T3 and T4 are in excess, so 2 is the magic dose number to lessen the thyroid effects!)
