Uses of alpha and beta blockers

It's tough to remember all the uses at once, since Autonomic Nervous system is a huge system!

For beta blockers, think system wise:

Start with the head
Anxiety
Migraine

Then, the eyes
Glaucoma

The thyroid gland
Thyroid storm

The hands
Essential tremor

The heart and blood vessels
Hypertension
Angina pectoris
Cardiac arrhythmias
Myocardial infartion
Congestive heart failure
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Dissecting aortic aneurysm

And lastly, the adrenal gland
Pheocytochroma (with alpha blockers)

Uses of beta blockers mnemonic
Alpha blockers seem easy, but they are tougher to recollect while writing a theory exam :O
Pheoctyochroma
Phentolamine Induced Penile Erection
Peripheral vascular diseases
Secondary shock (After fluid replacement)
Migraine
Congestive heart failure
Hypertension
[Try remembering "PSM Heart Hypertension"]

That's all!
