Pneumococcal vaccines mnemonic for the USMLE

Hey!

So we already have a wonderful post written about these vaccines here.

I am just here to share the mnemonic! :)

Age 19-64: PPSV23 alone in chronic heart, lung and liver disease, smokers, diabetics and alcoholics.

Because the age range has 23 - you give PPSV23 only

When do we give sequential PCV13 followed by PPSV23 in this age group?
pCv in very high risk patients with a C
CSF leak
Cochlear implants
immunoCompromised
siCkle Cell disease
Chronic kidney disease

Age >65
PCV13 followed by PPSV23

Because the age range does not have 23 - you give 13 first followed by 23.

That's all!
