MIL : Pemphigus Vulgaris

Hi everyone ! This is my first MIL post

Description: Pemphigus Vulgaris

The above image shows multiple vesiculobullous lesions - largest being around 3-5 cm in diameter, well circumscribed, containing clear fluid.

The bullae look flaccid if you look carefully. (LESION A is a Bulla)

Also LESION B shows an erosion - most likely to be a site for a previous bulla that has now ruptured.

The patient was a 65 year old female with such Bullous lesions throughout her body and even in the oral cavity.

Strongly suggested a diagnosis of Pemphigus Vulgaris.

Diagnosis - Confirmed by Histopathology of skin biopsy sample showing intra-epidermal cyst.

Treatment - was refractory to steroids; started on Rituximab.

Image was taken with the patient's consent.

Happy studying!
Stay Awesome!
