Hey everyone!
Another one of my "Final year MBBS notes - remember & write everything I can in the theory paper" kind of post :D
We are learning how to remember various modalities of treatment of Varicose veins.
The treatment of varicose veins revolves around the
alphabets B, C, D, E, F.. Wanna see how?
General measures:
Boots – Unna boots
Bandages – Crepe bandages
Compression – Pneumatic compression
Elevation of limb
Drugs:
Benzopyrones
Coumarins
Calcium Dobestilate (Do be still late? :P )
Diosmin (Two jasmin? xD )
Sclerotherapies:
Catheter Directed sclerotherapy
Echosclerotherapy
Foam sclerotherapy
Injection of sclerosants by Fegans technique
That's all!
I know one year later I am gonna look back at think, "I needed a mnemonic to remember this? Un-buh-lievable!"
But still, worth posting the silliness for future generations =D

Hey....
ReplyDeletewhich cream or treatment is better to solve Varicose veins problem??...
give a reply....
Hey!
DeleteIt depends on the severity of the disease. If the varicosities are not controlled by conservative treatment like stockings, creams, etc; your doctor might advice treatment in the form of surgery. Commonly, Sclerotherapy or stripping of veins is adviced.
You should consult your physician for more information.
Thanku for such amazing mnemonics
