Medicowesome secret project: Substance dependency

What is the secret project? How can I participate?
Name: akautomatics
Passion: Music

Disease: Substance dependency.
4 music selections, each approaching the topic from its own perspective.

1) The libertines - What a waster: What I would describe as a generalized and uninformed mainstream public view of a stereotypical drug addict's character and lifestyle.

2) Third eye blind - Semi-charmed life: An upbeat pop song with a super catchy hook describing the experience and some especially seedy behaviours of meth users, straightforwardly but with a superficial/sugarcoated bent on the explicit details.

3) Of montreal - Heimsdalsgate like a promethean curse: A look at organic neurochemical pathology symptoms and the parallels that can be drawn with symptoms of psychoactive substance use

4) Lil wayne - I feel like dying: Takes a cold hard look at the darkest moments experienced within an addiction, when the sickness shows it's potential for morbidity and mortality and some insight into why and how addicts relapse; how there's an acute as well as chronic pathology to a substance dependency.

Editors note: The writer of this post has sent me a long interpretation of each of these songs and lyrics. Since it contains words and ideas that might be inappropriate for some readers, we have decided to send this post by email to those who request it. If you are interested in reading the entire post, email us at medicowesome@gmail.com and we will send it to you! :)
