Risk factors for puerperal sepsis mnemonic:
PUERPERAL SEPSIS


- Prolonged rupture of membranes (>18 hours)
- Uterovaginal canal trauma
- Examinations of vagina (repeated)
- Retained bits of placental tissue/ membranes
- Prolonged labor
- Anemia and malnutrition
- Labor ( obstructed, preterm)

- Sugar ( Diabetes and its complications)
- hEmorrhage ( antepartum or postpartum)
- Premature rupture of membranes
- Severe Immunocompromised ( HIV)
- Sepsis
