Clinical correlate: Sildenafil contraindicated for pilots

Hello

Not just type-5, but Sildenafil is also a phosphodiesterase type-6 inhibitor.
PDE-6 is present in the eyes.

Sildenafil prescribed for pulmonary hypertension or erectile dysfunction (PDE-5) may also act on PDE-6 in the eyes to cause blue - green color blindness, thus making it unsuitable for use by pilots.

Other drugs in this class - Vardenafil, Tardalafil (remain in the body for up to 3 days)

Hope that helps :)
