Hello
Sulfasalazine has two components:
- 5-ASA
- Sulfapyridine (SP)
5-ASA is effective in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Activated form of 5-ASA, which is another drug called Mesalamine is used in Crohn's disease.
SP component of Sulfasalazine is effective in the case of Rheumatoid arthritis.
