Causes of Acute Pancreatitis mnemonic :

- Alcohol ingestion
- Biliary calculus
- Connective tissue disorders ( SLE, TTP, PAN )
- Drugs (sulphonamides, tetracycline, estrogens, azathioprine, thiazide, frusemide, valproic acid, corticosteroids)
- post- ERCP
- acute Fatty liver of pregnancy
- Gastric ( penetrating peptic ulcer)
- High calcium, triglycerides
- Hereditary
- Infections (viral hepatitis, mumps, roundworms, mycoplasma, toxoplasma)
- Injury (trauma) to abdomen
- Kidney failure/ transplant
