Clinical features of Pneumococcal Pneumonia mnemonic

Hi!

Clinical features of pneumococcal pneumonia mnemonic:
HI STREPTOCOCCUS

- HIgh body temperature, with chills and rigor
- Skin (hot, dry, facial flushes)
- Tachycardia
- "Rusty" sputum
- Emesis
- Pleuritic chest pain
- Tachypnea (rapid breathing)
- Onset (abrupt)
- COnvulsions
- Cough ( initially dry and painful, later becomes productive)
- Central cyanosis
- pleural rUb ( lame one ;p )
- Sores around the lips ( herpes labialis)
