- Poverty and overcrowding
- Non-immune status ( low complements, low IG)
- Excess Alcohol
- Under 2 years of age
- Mellitus ( Diabetes)
- Over 65 years of age
- New-onset severe liver disease
- Influenza (Antecedent)
- Asplenia/ hyposplenia
