Features suggesting severe upper GI bleeding

Features suggesting severe UGI bleeding:

- Presence of blood clots in the vomitus
- Fresh blood in the NG aspirate
- Passage of frank blood per rectum ( Hematochezia)
- Fall in Blood pressure
- Pulse (high)

Note- A fall in systolic blood pressure more than 10 mm Hg and a rise in pulse rate of more than 20 beats/min on change of posture from lying to sitting position suggests severe UGI bleeding.

That would be all
Thank you!
