 NEXUS criteria for Cervical Spine imaging 

Any 1 of the following is an indication : 

Mnemonic =  “NSAID”

N = Neurological deficit 

S =  Spinal tenderness 

A = Altered Mental status - AMS 

I =  Intoxication 

D = Distracting injury (Serious long bone fracture)

Non contrast CT scan - best screening method
