Clearance of inulin and para-aminohippuric acid mnemonic

Inulin stays INside the tubules (neither secreted nor reabsorbed).
That is why, the clearance of Inulin is equal to the glomerular filtration rate (GFR).

PAH is PAssed to tubules (completely secreted).
That is why, the clearance of para-aminohippuric acid is equal to the renal plasma flow.

How to remember digoxin is renally excreted

"diGOxin needs to GO."
This helps me remember that you need to go and pee digoxin and hence it is renally excreted! =D
Remember one and the other one is the other one.. Digitoxin uses the hepatic route of metabolism.

Remember hot curling iron for Curling's ulcer association with burns. 

You cushion your head.. Cushing’s ulcer is associated with head trauma!

Antifungal drugs (with mechanism of action) mnemonic

Hola! Me again!
Drugs and their mechanisms can be difficult to remember.. I like pairing the action with the drug name to make it easy. We are doing anti-fungals today (Yaay!)

Mr. Ampho tears holes in the fungal membrane.
Mister rhymes with Nyster and it reminds me of Nystatin. Ampho is Amphotericin.

The word "Squatter" reminds me that Squalene epoxidase is inhibited by terbinafine.

Galactose and fructose metabolism mnemonics (Galactosemia, fructosuria and hereditary fructose intolerance)

Here are some mnemonics that I made on Galactose and Fructose metabolism while studying.

Oxygen saturation mnemonic

I imagine Hemoglobin as a seat for oxygen to sit on. The RBC is like a bus and wohhoo travels the oxygen to it's destination!

Anyway..
If something doesn't allow oxygen to sit on it seat decreases O2 saturation.
Sit - seat - sat, get it?

Carbon monoxide sat on oxygen's seat. O2 saturation decreases in CO poisoning.
